My Childhood Christmas Memories

December 24,2020 7:00 PM

Hey folks,

Christmas Eve is here.

A few of you must be all pepped up with decorating the tree, wrapping gifts, filling stocking.

A few of you must be speed tapping Christmas messages in gadgets across your social circle.

A few of you must be best enjoying, doing nothing, covid has done it all so nothing actually left for you to do!

So to cut it short, everyone is up to something.

Me?

Well, am here to chit-chat with my readers and share my childhood memories of Christmas.

My entire schooling happened in Christian schools. No wonder the Christmas celebration was my yearly thing to look out for.

I was no alien to carols, the big Christmas tree kept in the central podium of school,

the display of Jesus' birth all around the tree, the giant star on the top of that huge

tree oozing a festive spirit.

But what I and my classmates awaited was the enormous honey cake cut in the assembly

and then distributed amidst all.

A small but sweet celebration that continued for almost 15 years of my schooling and kept

adding to my childhood memories of Christmas.

I was somehow fascinated with the Church and the whole festive aura in and around the Church

during Christmas.

Lighting candles, and doing unlimited handshakes with Santa (selfie fever was not existing that time),

singing carols with the Church Choir, and then ...the main thing!

Being a foodie how can I forget the awesome plum cakes made by my bestie, Bency's mother.

It was the best.

No, those days we didn't have categories like egg or eggless!:))

It was only, ghar ka and bahaar ka cake. (homemade and outside cake)

Luring on those cakes was motivating enough to even dress up as Santa and reach to

Bency's home and have those brownies and cakes.

Well well….let me come to the present.

First of All, Merry Christmas to All.

This year was testing enough.

Some of us skyrocketed, some discovered self and some lost their everything.

Dear Santa,

Let this be not some fancy tale about you.

Please come.

Yes, we badly want you.

Why?

Because, we need gifts of hope, recovery, stability, empathy, and love.

Let the needy and deprived get a reason to smile

Let us love and take care of ourselves and our family for a while

What else from this year 2020 can we take?

Wish you all blessings and happiness cake!!

Waiting For You,

Vibha

The Writer's Feels - Bust Your Inhibitions and Get Started!

A lot of newbies ask me how to become a  writer?

I started with actual 'writing' maybe 7 months back???!!! But trust me, I still do not know the answer to how you can become a writer.

Why?

Simply because I am an accidental writer who was blessed with times wherein my write-ups connected and touched souls. In return, I got soaked in appreciation, a niche fan-following as well as heaps of motivation.

The passion slowly simmered with my continuous exploration of writing stuff that I love.

7 months down the line, I feel that writing and I are now inseparable.

Writing has become a new form of expression. It is now, the language that I speak and understand.

The beauty of being a writer is that you never feel 'seasoned'. YES.

We may get confidence. We may even brag about our writing credos. But to the best, writing expertise doesn't stop at a degree. The exploration goes on and on, as every word is new, every feeling is new and our every thought that our mystical mind weaves.....even when perhaps a  millionth time... it is new.

I come across curiosities on a daily basis when budding writers or writers in the making connect with me on social media.

They put forward questions like:

"I am not having that rich vocabulary."

"I do not know where to start."

"Can you give me some topics to write ma'am?"

"Is there any course to become a writer?"

These were only a few of them.

I say, that instead of questions these all are basically questionable MYTHS!

A good soul told me, " Writers cannot be made. They are born."

That is true. But still, if you have not yet discovered it and struggling with the above-mentioned myths, then read this:

You are a writer. Your thoughts have to be rich rather than your vocabulary.

If you are able to make simple meaningful sentences that translate your thoughts. YOU ARE GOOD.

We are blessed to have apps like 'Grammarly' to take care of your minor hiccups!

Every writer starts being a reader.   You have to RUN - Read, Understand, and Note.

Develop a habit of reading, understanding the inside-outside context, and make a note of what is 'your' view/analysis on the same.

It is a human tendency to not follow someone for long. When you do this continuously, there will be a day when you are prompted to come up with your content as a shoutout to your readers!

Oh please! Do not take me or anyone else to suggest to you, on what topics can you write!

Start with something you know about. Start with something you have a strong opinion or feeling.

Let it exactly resonate with your thought, views, and knowledge. The composition of a writer is not an essay, it is an expression. It is interactive and it is your voice. So you just have to speak, but ..on the paper.

I am not against learning. But there are certain nuances that cannot be learned through a fixed writing curriculum or a degree!

Perfection cannot be achieved through a content writing course. Believe in yourself and start with one line, two lines. Your reader is your best teacher and critique.

So write on the open platform and test yourself. This is the best way to mould a writer in you. You may not be perfect, but you are a learner and a writer in the making!

Well, these were some common questions.

It was in May'2020, I came up with vibzcontentcart.com. It was and is still my writing meditation space where I love to be whenever I want to talk. Thankful for the love it got.

It is not just a blog, but much more than that. This platform is open for all the budding writers who want to test their writing skills, seek guidance, tips, and bits while taking their first steps towards becoming a writer. So if you feel, you have a voice and want to connect with your readers, THIS IS FOR YOU.

I welcome writer-drafts at vibhaguptapro@gmail.com. The categories? Well, I do not categorize your write-ups other than the technical bifurcation.

So write-mail -publish-share. And there you are!

Last but not the least, ending today's feels with a quote that celebrates the essence of writing.

Story Telling

When are you starting your writing journey??!!!
